About PetroCup

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University every year organizes an Annual Inter-College Sports Festival – “PETROCUP” which boasts as a messenger to spread an aura of sportsmanship, intensity, and competition with a message of “BLAZE OF GLORY”.

With each passing year, Petrocup rises not only in fame, but also in intensity. The last edition (from 14th- 18th February, 2019) hosted one of India’s finest cricketers – Parthiv Patel, as our chief guest for the Inauguration ceremony.

PetroCup saw the participation from more than 109 prominent institutes all over India with a participation of 6000+ participants and footfall of over 9,500 students. We also had international participation from the University of Peradeniya, Sri lanka and ICCR.

There are a total of 18 official sports ranging from Cricket, Basketball, Chess, and many more. We also host some informal events like Neon rush, Tug of War, e-games, the jersey launch and the PetroCup Carnival.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’s 100 acre campus is located in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.

PDPU offers multiple courses ranging from engineering, arts and management along with maximum exposure and opportunities to its students through various national and international exchange programs with the best universities worldwide.

It intends to broaden the opportunities for students and professionals to develop core subject knowledge which are duly complemented by leadership training interventions, thereby helping the students to make a mark in the global arena.
